This is our Peru mug. It has a story.

But first, a word of explanation about the device with the digital image of a robber. That's a thermometer David bought me for a house warming gift when we moved last weekend into our little Philadelphia row house. It reads the outside temperature and makes wardrobe recommendations based on the weather. When the little man has his beanie on, we know it's time to bundle up. When he sheds down to his boxer-briefs, we'll know spring has arrived. The morning entertainment it provides is well worth whatever David paid for it.
Back to the Peru mug. We planned to sip coffee from it and recall fond memories from our time living in Peru. But when we got back to the States and unpacked, it occurred to us that we shouldn't have bought the cheap street market version if we actually wanted to drink out of it. So it became a pen holder for a season. More recently, it's become our adoption fund mug.
Here's David adding the $2 he found on the street last night. Probably some poor kid's lunch money from the school across the street. If he/she happens to read this, please know your empty stomach was not in vain. Your two bucks is going to a good cause.
We've starting throwing our spare change and extra cash in the mug and taking it to the bank when it gets full. Every little bit brings us a little closer to the massive price tag of an international adoption, and it's fun to see adding up.

I think it's so awesome you are looking to do an international adoption:-) So you're settling down in Philadelphia?! Miss you guys, but if that's where God wants you, then that's the best place to be, right?! Take care and God bless you. Keep in touch. Miss you guys so much!!
I have a lot of change at home you can have!
What does the little weather man on your device do when it gets really really hot?
