out of the comfort zone

We've been saying one of the reasons we want to live abroad is because we know it will stretch us. Well, we haven't even left yet and the stretching has begun. Which reminds me ... it's actually quite uncomfortable to be stretched out of one's comfort zone.

Recently we were Skyping with the chiropractor who is currently running the clinic and asked her to take the laptop around the house and give us a video tour of where we'll be living and working. Until then, I'd been living with the blissful impression that the clinic was on the bottom floor, and the apartment was on the top floor. Imagine my confusion when the tour began upstairs with an office. Then an exam room. Then a bedroom. And then a small living room. "And here we go downstairs ... here's the waiting room, the adjusting area, the kitchen..."

Um.

So the entrance to the kitchen is through the adjusting area? And the bedroom is next door to an exam room??

Oh boy.

As the Skype tour progressed, I could feel my personal space issues start to simmer.

Goodbye comfort zone. Let the stretching begin!

oh yes, there is a partio. And unlike our partio here, it is always sunny.
