my first (completed) marathon: jan 11, 2009, disney world

mile 1: so happy ... fireworks still ringing in my ears (they started the race in true disney style!)
mile 3: still happy, but eager to get into my pace instead of dodging and tripping around people. crowded course!
mile 5: still going strong on adrenaline.
mile 7: stop to stretch. realize my leg feels good ... i'm gonna do this thing!
mile 10: ran under the Cinderella castle. surely those trumpeters are there just for me.
mile 13: hooray! HALFWAY!! oh wait ... i have to do all that again???
mile 16: lots of people walking this marathon. i refuse to be one of them.
mile 18: my legs hurt.
mile 19: i hate this.
mile 20: i really, really hate this.
mile 21: oh my gosh, will this race ever end??
miles 22: ditto
mile 23: pass the 5-hour pace group ... which means i'm going to finish under my goal of 5 hours!
mile 24-25: pick up the pace out of anger. the faster i run, the sooner i can get this dumb thing over with.
mile 26: starting to feel happy again. ignoring the pain in my legs and feet.
mile 26.2: big smile and arms raised as a i cross the finish line. I DID IT!!!!!!

Way to go you two! That is seriously awesome.

But... were you able to find any Cold Stone? ;)

yes, we found cold stone. (we are experienced cold stone hunters.) but by the time we found one, we'd already gorged ourselves on so much other junk food, we only ordered a "like it" size to share.
